Our organisations

As a grant making trust Ormiston Trust gives funding to support children and families. In 1981 – the Robert Milne Family Centre, a former Barnardo’s home in Ipswich was opened, and by 1992 Ormiston Children and Families Trust was established to manage an increasingly diverse range of services for children, young people and families. In 2014 Ormiston Children and Families Trust changed its name to Ormiston Families and established four programmes of work.

Ormiston Trust began sponsoring academies in 2006, to further its ambitions ensuring all young people have access to an education that will increase their life-chances. The Trust created Ormiston Academies Trust in 2009 to run the academies and OAT now has a family of academies across England.
